Cleanliness and Safe Practices
All tattoo artists at DORK Tattoo Parlor are required to practice cleanliness that is required of us by law in Louisville. Our shop is the first shop in Louisville to use only disposable tubes, needles and cartridges. In the past, tattoo shops have used stainless steel tubes that are sterilized and used again. To further reduce the chances of infection and possible scarring of the skin, we chose to use all our tattooing materials only once. Every tube, needle and cartridge at our shop is promptly discarded after every tattoo using safe and clean waste management.

Correctly labeled rubbing alcohol, antibacterial soap, and witch-hazel

Your tattoo artist can spend more time on the design of your tattoo, to give you something unique and original. Here at DORK Tattoo Parlor, all of our artists have strong backgrounds in art and have received various levels of art education.
Get to know your tattoo artist. With scheduled consultations and communications on your tattoo design, you will feel comfortable coming back and you will get to know your tattoo artist more.
Quality over everything. Depending on the artist you choose, your tattoo design will be formulated based off your artist's personal style and the type of image you want. This creates a truly unique type of tattoo. The artist is a specialist at their own style and will focus on quality naturally.
Receive a tattoo in a stress-less environment. We know your brave, but you shouldn't have to be stressed. Your tattoo appointment will be our top priority, anyone who doesn’t have an appointment will not come before you.
Piercing FAQs
Like tattoos, piercing is an art form that’s highly respected in our shop. You may have a few questions about our policies on piercing here at DORK Tattoo Parlor. We’ll try to answer a few:
Do you pierce minors? No, we do not pierce anyone under 18 who does not have a notarized letter from a parent or guardian saying that they can get pierced at our shop. You can notarize a letter at most banks, post offices, or UPS. The parent or guardian has to be present during the piercing as well.
How much are piercings? Currently our Piercer has priced the piercings as: Nose and Ears are $30; Private areas (genitalia included) $60; Anywhere else is $40.
Is jewelry included? Yes.
